Coe predicts a 'massive, massive year' for Melbourne Victory
The 29-year-old believes he will be a key player for the club next season.
Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Nathan Coe is predicting the 2013/14 A-League season to be massive for the club and himself.
Ange Postegoclou’s side, minus influential duo Gui Finkler and Adama Traore, finished third on the ladder last term before they were beaten by eventual Grand Final champions Central Coast Mariners in the semi-finals.
Coe, who arrived at AAMI Park from Danish club SønderjyskE just before round four, played a pivotal role for Victory last term and is confident he will be their number one custodian throughout the new campaign.
And with Finkler and Traore both fighting fit, the 29-year-old is convinced he is in the best possible place to properly earn a title winners medal and bury the heartbreak of 2012/13.
“One of my reasons for coming to Melbourne was to win things and have a big part in doing that,” Coe told Sportal on Thursday.
“So, you know, last year we were all disappointed that we didn’t end up winning anything.
“I think this year is going to be a massive, massive year for us and we all are aiming to win something.”
Coe was previously part of the championship winning squads at PSV Eindhoven and FC Copenhagen earlier in his career, but barely featured for either side during their respective Eredivise and Danish Superliga triumphs.
